Crime Chronicle: Armed Robbery, Pair Charged with Selling Pot

Burglary, Forced Entry: Police responded to the burglary in the 4200 block of Mistymorn Point on the morning of Nov. 12. The owner said he believed entry was made in the morning or afternoon through a downstairs windows. Stolen was an HP desktop computer, Vizio HD TV, wooden TV stand, $75 in coins, Cannon digital camera, 12-pack of Smirnoff, four-pack air fresheners, and a baseball hat.

Burglary, Forced Entry: Police responded to an audible alarm about 11:15 p.m. on Nov. 13 in the 3900 block of Francis Drive. Police found a broken window going into the basement. The daughter of the house's owner arrived and said nothing appeared missing. 

Theft of Services: Police responded to the 3600 block of Ashley Woods Drive on the morning of Nov. 14. A man said he fixed a truck's transmission for another man named Ray—he didn't know the last name. The man told police that when Ray came to get the truck the night before, the battery wasn't working, something unrelated to the transmission.

The man told police that Ray was "very upset" that the truck wasn't running and wasn't paying for the transmission. The man told Ray to leave and return when he got the truck running. The next morning, Nov. 14, the man left his house, and when he returned, the truck was gone, along with a computer that reads error codes that was inside the vehicle.

Armed Robbery: Police responded to a woman being robbed in the parking lot the afternoon of Nov. 14. The police report doesn't indicate that a suspect was apprehended or what type of weapon was used. Stolen was a purse, three checkbooks, and various cards. 

Sales of Marijuana, Weapons Violation, Possession of Synthetic Narcotic: Police were dispatched to the Sailors Parkway  the afternoon of Nov. 16 on a call that someone was selling drugs in the parking lot. Upon arrival, police couldn't locate the vehicle that matched the given description. While patrolling a little later, police encountered the vehicle. 

The police report says that when the occupants of the vehicle, Powder Springs residents Darrin Alfonzo Tate and Terrencio Quatez Barr, denied having the vehicle searched, a K-9 unit was called in. The dog indicated it had found something, and in a book bag inside the car were the following items: 21 bags of marijuana (71 grams), a loaded .38 caliber revolver, $204, and nine Alprazolam pills—a generic form of Xanax. Another bag containing a substance suspected to be marijuana was found in Tate's pocket. Other items, including two female wallets, were found in the car, and the report indicates that police would attempt to establish ownership of the items.

Barr and Tate were charged with selling marijuana, weapons violation, and possession of a synthetic narcotic. Tate, 20, bailed out four days later, according to jail records. His mug shot is attached. Jail records weren't immediately available for Barr.

Theft: An employee of the  came to the police department on Nov. 17 saying her wallet had been taken from an area where all employees leave their things while on duty. She had already canceled her bank card, and there didn't appear to be any fraudulent use.

Burglary: On the evening of Nov. 17, police were dispatched to the 3600 block of Ten Oaks Circle on theft call. The owner said several items were stolen from his shed, including a blower, weed eater, chainsaw, drill, three drill bit sets, and a Sony radio.
