Crime Chronicle: Burglaries, Thefts

Here are recent incidents responded to by Powder Springs police.

Sunday

Damage to property: Yellow paint was splattered on the Powder Springs sign on C.H. James Parkway near Powder Springs-Dallas Road. It appeared that a glass container filled with the paint had been thrown at the sign and shattered.

Monday

Burglary: A woman reported that her Wii, Playstation 2, Akula watch and Dell laptop were stolen from her home in the 4100 block of Morningside Circle. Some entered the house by breaking a window above the kitchen sink.

Theft: A woman called police and said that someone had stolen her daughter's bicycle overnight from their home in the 1000 block of Paddock Way.

Theft: A man who cares for banked-owned properties said the air conditioning unit was stolen from a home owned by CitiMortgage in the 3100 block of Pinto Drive. “He could not advise how long the unit had been gone," a report says.

Tuesday

Burglary: Nearly $3,000 was stolen from the Texaco at 3265 Florence Road. Read the story .

Theft: A woman called police and said the two people who had been renting her trailer in the 4500 block of Kathy Circle stole a bottle of vodka, bottle of tequila, phone, laptop and vacuum.

Wednesday 

Theft: A woman said her son's bicycle, which she remembered seeing the night before, was stolen from their home in the 3500 block of Hopkins Court. “She expressed concern that it was taken by kids that come to her neighbors house to purchase candy," the police report says. There were two other unsecured bicycles behind the house, and the responding officer suggested that those be locked up.
