Crime Chronicle: Thefts Abound

Accounts of the following incidents are based on reports.

Theft of More Than $500, sometime between March 21 and April 7, 3500 block of Flowering Springs: A woman told police jewelry had been taken from her bedroom, though there weren't any signs of forced entry into her home. The woman said her grandson had lived with her temporarily, and it's possible he could have taken the jewelry. She didn't immediately know where he was.

Theft of More Than $500 and Criminal Trespassing, sometime between March 28-29, 3700 block of Macedonia Road: A woman told police someone came into her backyard through an unlocked fence door and took a lawnmower. There were three lawnmowers back there, but only the one was taken.

Theft of Less Than $500, March 30, Forest Hill Road at Buck Road: A juvenile told police two males approached him while he was walking home from school. The males asked to use his cell phone, and when he gave it to them, they ran with it.

Entering an Auto, March 30, 4600 block of Brownsville Road: A woman told police that her car window had been smashed and her purse was gone.

Theft of Less Than $500, April 2, 4200 block of Marietta Street: After spending the night away from home, a woman said she returned to find an open window at the back of her house. She said her ex-roommate's stuff and money from her wallet had been taken.

Damage to Property and Curfew Violation, April 2, 4000 block of Misty Morn Lane: A man said he found damage to his Jaguar's rear window. Police found a rock and piece of metal with what appeared to be concrete attached laying in the rear dash. A break light and rear seat were also damaged. Police traced the crime back to two juveniles living down the road, who were charged with second degree damage to property and curfew violations.

Theft of a Car, between April 2-3, 1400 block of Paddocks Way: A man told police his car had been stolen and returned. He was woken up at 1 a.m. on April 3 by his dog barking and realized his car was gone. The report doesn't offer any further details but does list Quincy Bowers of Marietta as the offender.

Criminal Trespassing, between April 3, 5600 block of Chrus Street: Three juveniles were reported to be smoking at the house. When police arrived, they were taken into custody for criminal trespassing.
