Crime Chronicle: Even Frosty Isn't Safe

Here are recent incidents the Powder Springs police responded to.

Accounts of the following incidents are based on reports.

Resisting an Officer/Arrest, Driving with Invalid Registration, Driving with No License, Dec. 5, 1100 block of Paddocks Way: Police were dispatched to Yoshino Terrace in reference to a "suspicious vehicle ... driving extremely slow through the neighborhood." The driver pulled into a driveway on Paddocks Way and fled into the woods. The narrative of the report ends there, saying, "At this time, I began my investigation." The driver, Quartius James Lossa, was charged with resisting an officer/arrest, driving with invalid registration and driving without a license. It wasLossa's fourth charge of not having insurance and fifth for having an open container, the report says. 

Damage to Property, Dec. 5, 4400 block of Pineview Drive: The complainant told police that the sign at the Powder Springs Apartments was damaged. There isn't any other information in the report's narrative, which concludes with "I then began my investigation."

Theft from Vehicle, Dec. 6, 3600 block of Powder Springs Road: A man told police that someone broke into his truck by busting out the back glass. A Toshiba laptop and a Husky toolbox with 80 tools were stolen. 

Assault/Battery, Dec. 8, 4900 block of Creekside Lane: Police responded to a "disorderly juvenile." The narrative doesn't have any further information, saying, "This is where my investigation begins."

Burglary, Dec. 8, 4200 block of Morningside Way: A Housing and Urban Development subcontractor said he had been contracted to clean the vacant house and prepare it for auction. When he arrived Dec. 8, a hot water heater, air-conditioning unit, faucet and kitchen sink were missing. There were no signs of forced entry. 

Criminal Trespassing, Dec. 8, 3200 block of Caley Mill Court: The homeowner told police someone spray-painted one side of her mailbox with bright orange paint. "There were no words or symbols; only what appeared to be a line straight down the post and a random squiggly line on the mailbox," the report says. 

Theft from Vehicle, Dec. 9, 3500 block of Ponderosa Lane: Police responded to a theft from an automobile. The narrative doesn't have any further information, saying, "I made contact with the complainant and began the investigation." 

Theft of Automobile, Dec. 9, 3600 block of Ponderosa Lane: A man told police that sometime between the night of Dec. 8 and the morning of Dec. 9, his 2004 gold Dodge Ram truck was stolen from his driveway. He said he wasn't sure whether he left the truck unlocked but knew he left work keys inside. The tag number is BQX2777.

Theft from Vehicle, Dec. 9, 3600 block of Ponderosa Lane: Police responded to a theft from an automobile. It lists the stolen items as two Chase credit cards, $60, a driver's license and wallet. The narrative doesn't have any further information, saying, "I made contact with the complainant and began the investigation." 

Theft from Vehicle, Dec. 9, 3700 block of Ponderosa Lane: Police responded to a theft from an automobile. The narrative doesn't have any further information, saying, "I made contact with the victim and began the investigation." 

Theft, Dec. 9, 3500 block of Hopkins Court: The resident told police that between the night of Dec. 8 and the morning of Dec. 9, her Frosty the Snowman Christmas countdown timer was stolen from her yard.

Damage to Property, Dec. 9, 3400 block of Mustang Drive: The resident told police that between the night of Dec. 8 and the morning of Dec. 9, his 2012 Toyota Sequoia and 2001 Honda Accord were damaged. The damage appeared to come from a pellet gun. 

Criminal Trespass, Dec. 9, 5000 block Evelyn Way: Police were dispatched in reference to damage to property. The narrative doesn't have any further information, saying, "I made contact with the complainant and began the investigation."
