Friend's 'Homeboy' Takes iPhone

Police responded to the incident on Rose Petal Lane on June 22.

A Powder Springs man told police that a friend of a friend threatened to take his laptop if he didn’t hand over his iPhone.

Police responded to the man’s home at 3203 Rose Petal Lane (see map at right) on June 22 at roughly 5 p.m. in reference to a robbery, according to a report.

“The victim stated that his ‘homeboy,’ identified as Lenny Fields, and two of Lenny’s ‘homeboys,’ unknown identities, came over to the victim’s home unannounced,” the report says.

The victim and Fields were talking on the stairs when one of the two unknown men asked to see his iPhone, he told police. The victim said no, but the man said if he didn’t give him the phone, he’d take his laptop from the house.

The victim gave up his phone, and “after a short conversation, the male put the iPhone in his pocket.”

“Lenny and his ‘homeboys’ left the home without returning the iPhone,” the report says, adding they drove off in a black Dodge truck.

The person who took the phone is described as a muscular black male, between 17 and 19 years old, with black and gold dreads and tattoos on his forearm.

The other person the victim didn’t know is described as a thin black male, either 15 or 16 years old, 5 foot 5 inches tall, with small dreads.

The victim didn’t have Fields’ phone number, but he was friends with him on Facebook, the report says. An officer recommended the victim search for the two people he didn’t know on Fields’ Facebook friends list.

The victim didn’t have a serial number for the phone and it wasn’t activated.
