Dennis Brown was denied bond Thursday after admitting to having sex with a Lithia Springs High student, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.Β 

He told Douglas County Magistrate Barbara Caldwell that he wants to seek help for his addiction to sex, the AJC reports.

A former teacher and coach has been arrested and accused of sexually assaulting a female student.

Dennis Brown, 52, is charged with felony sexual assault under a law that targets any educator who has sexual contact with a student who attends his school, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

A 17-year-old student said she had oral sex with Brown in his pickup truck off campus in September, Phil Miller told the AJC.

Brown, in his first year at Lithia Springs, quit his teaching job Monday, CBS Atlanta reported.

Brown was listed on the Lithia Springs High website as a member of the social studies department teaching economics, but he had been removed from the site by Wednesday evening.

He was being held at the while awaiting a bond hearing Thursday morning.
