Marietta Police are investigating a murder involving an ex-boyfriend and another man.
Marietta Police officers responded to a report of a person shot at 113 Griggs Street at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. When officers arrived they found the victim, 24-year-old Arthur Moses Jr. of Marietta, dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
The investigation revealed that the suspect, Patrick Burr, used to date the female resident at 113 Griggs Street. Burr arrived at the house and observed both Moses and his ex-girlfriend sitting in a car in the driveway of the house.
Burr pulled out a pistol and began firing into the car, police said. Both occupants of the vehicle attempted to flee on foot, but Burr was able to fatally shoot Moses before he could escape, police said.
Burr was still on scene when officers arrived and was taken into custody. He was transported to the Cobb County Jail where he is being held without bond.
