The Bartow County Sheriff's Office is trying to find a Marietta woman who allegedly kidnapped an 8-month-old boy, according to a press release just issued.

Sheriff Clark Millsap said in the release that Tuesday night between 10:30 and 11:30, 22-year-old Samantha Nicole Barrett left a Commanche Drive home in Acworth, allegedly stealing a 2003 Ford Taurus with the child inside. The vehicle is gray in color and should display Georgia license PAT8423.

Eight-month-old William Kaidyn Stover was last seen on Commanche Drive wearing a red Adidas shirt and diaper.

Authorities say Barrett has no relation to the child or the mother and was only an acquaintance of the baby's mom.

Barrett has connections in Bartow and Cobb counties, but her location is unknown.

Anyone who sees the vehicle, child or Barrett is urged to immediately call 911.

More information will be released as it becomes available, according to the release. Bartow County Sheriff's Office, which has now issued a Child Abduction Alert, is working with numerous other local, state and federal agencies in this case.
