Crime Map: McDonald's Robbed; Argument Over Breast-Feeding

Editor's Note: Accounts of the following incidents are based on reports from and what those involved tell police. The incidents with specific street addresses are mapped out above.

Simple Assault

When: May 23
Where: 4100 block of Marietta Street
A woman told police that when she started to work on the office's billing, the office manager got annoyed because she wasn't doing exactly what she wanted and said she would be replaced. An argument followed, and the worker said the office manager called people to try to hire them in front of her. The worker said she quit and gave the office manager her final hours in a folder, but the manager instead threw the folder at her and hit her. The worker said she put the folder back on her desk, and she threw it at her again but didn't hit her this time. The worker said another employee stepped in between them and she left.

Armed Robbery

When: May 27
Where:  at 4021 Powder Springs Road
An employee said an unknown male pointed a gun at him and demanded money. The police report lists $204 as stolen. The employee was able to give police a vehicle description, but after searching the area, police were unsuccessful in finding it. 

Aggravated Assault

When: May 31
Where: 3100 block of Palomino Drive
A woman told police she and her boyfriend got into a fight over using formula instead of breast milk for their child because she wasn't producing enough milk. The girlfriend said this "enraged (the boyfriend), who stated that no baby of his is going to be eating formula." The boyfriend threw a bottle in her direction and it smashed, the girlfriend said. The boyfriend wasn't there when police arrived, as he had "stormed out" of the residence, she said. She didn't immediately want to press charges.

Marijuana—Sale/Deliver/Distribute

When: June 3-4
Where: 3200 block of Kipling Drive
Police responded to the neighborhood in reference to a vehicle driving recklessly and were able to locate the described car in a driveway. They found the driver inside, and while talking with him, his hands were shaking nervously. Police also smelled marijuana on him. After he initially denied having any or smoking it, police went to the house's basement and smelled more from inside a room. In all, four people were arrested on charges of intent to distribute the drug. 

Theft by Taking—Less than $500

When: June 4-5
Where: 3500 block of Hopkins Court
A woman told police a bicycle was taken from in front of her house.

Theft—Entering Auto

When: June 6
Where: 3600 block of Old Lost Mountain Road
A man told police someone took his laptop from his car. There weren't any signs of forced entry, and the man couldn't remember if the car had been locked.

Theft

When: June 7
Where: 4200 block of Springdale Circle
A woman told police that someone took 14 Adderall pills from an unsecure box from under her bed. She suspected that her juvenile daughter took them because she previously admitted to talking one of them before. But police said there wasn't enough evidence to charge the daughter.

Theft—Entering Auto

When: June 9
Where:  on Sailors Parkway
A man told police that his Monte Carlo broke down and he was able to pull it into AutoZone, but that he wasn't able to roll up a window because of a loss of power. Since he was on his way to work, he said he had to leave the vehicle. When he returned, a touch-screen stereo system from within had been taken. 

Theft by Taking—Less than $500

When: June 10
Where: 4100 block of Woodcrest Drive
A man said he fell asleep cleaning his .40 caliber gun, and when he woke up in the morning, it and his roommate were gone. He said the roommate had asked to borrow the gun earlier that day, but he said no. The man said his roommate had been "stressed out and acting strange for about a week now," and that he wasn't able to get ahold of him because he doesn't have a cell phone. The roommate is listed as a suspect in the report.

When: June 11-12
Where: 2700 block of Lost Lakes Drive
A woman told police that while her car was parked at the end of a driveway for about 30 minutes shortly before midnight, several items were taken from inside it.
