Powder Springs Crime Map: Thefts; Armed Robbery at Party

Theft by Taking

When: May 23-24
Where: 3600 block of Hopkins Court
A man told police someone took a shotgun and rifle from his house. Police didn't have any immediate suspects, but the man did provide names of interest.

Theft by Taking

When: May 25
Where:  on Brownsville Road
An employee said that while he was at work, his license plate was stolen off his car.

Armed Robbery

When: May 25-26
Where: 3100 block of Cedar Ridge Road
Police were dispatched to the 3400 block of New Macland Road in reference to a large party. Someone approached an officer saying his friend had been robbed, and the officer walked with that person to Cedar Ridge Road, where the victim was. The victim said he was walking with friends back from the party when someone called out to him. The victim said he walked over to the person who called out, who then pointed a gun at his chest and robbed him. The victim and witnesses gave accounts to police.

Theft and Damage to Property

When: Sometime between May 24-June 5
Where: 3100 block of Lancer Drive
A man told police that he originally discovered an air conditioning unit missing from the house on May 24. He also found damage to a stove and refrigerator on that date. He reported the incident on June 5 and said the reason for the delay was because he maintains the property for someone else, and the property owner didn't request the complaint be made until June 5. The last rental tenants moved out at the beginning of May.

Theft Entering Auto

When: May 26-27
Where: 4500 block of Falls Avenue
A woman told police that property was missing from three vehicles parked in her driveway. None of them had their doors locked, she said. Missing from the vehicles was a Nintendo DS system, a game for the system, a Verizon phone, money, a Coach wristlet, a CD case containing 30-40 CDs, a gym bag with clothes, and an iPod Nano.

Theft by Taking

When: June 1-2
Where: 3500 block of Hopkins Court
A woman told police that her daughter had someone over the night before, and when the person left, their Thrive tablet was gone. The person was "playing with the tablet much of the time he was there." They went to his house when they discovered it was missing, and he said to wait so he could give his cousin a motorcycle lesson, then he would be over to help them find the tablet. The woman said she wasn't waiting and called 911. The report indiciates that no one was immediately arrested.

When: June 4
Where: 3900 block of Morning Dew Court
A woman told police she left a camera on her bed, and when she came back almost an hour later, it was gone. She said she believed one of her two sons took it "because they're always taking stuff from her and pawning the items." The sons weren't there when police arrived, and the report doesn't indicate either were charged. 

DUI/Drugs and Serious Injury by Vehicle

When: June 11
Where: Mustang Drive
, was arrested on charges of serious injury by vehicle, DUI, reckless driving and marijuana possession less than an ounce. The police report's narrative doesn't provide any further information.
