Powder Springs Girl Found Safe

Twitter spread the word and helped bring the 9-year-old home Thursday.

The Twitter-aided search for a Powder Springs 9-year-old girl ended with good news Thursday night when Satori Tufts was found close to home.

“Please thank all of your followers for me your prayers and tweets worked,” Dr. Joy Edwards tweeted to M.D. Alexander, the girl’s uncle. “They found my daughter!!!

Collett Howard saw the girl walking in the Lost Lakes neighborhood just before 7 p.m., the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported, citing WSB-TV.

Howard told WSB that she didn’t think much about seeing the 9-year-old until she went inside and read about the search for the girl on Twitter.

Satori never made it home after getting off the school bus at 2:45 p.m., and led the hunt for her.

By 6 p.m., the search for her was being heavily retweeted as people sought help and prayers for the little girl.

It turns out that she ran away because she was upset about a bad grade at school, WSB reported.
