Powder Springs Man Dies After Single-Vehicle Wreck

Driver hit utility pole after losing control of car.

A Powder Springs man had died following a single-vehicle wreck on C.H. James Parkway at Hill Road in Powder Springs early Friday morning.

The Cobb County Police Department is investigating the incident. According to police, 22-year-old Nelson Zedkaia was driving northbound on C.H. James and lost control of the Honda Civic as he was attempting to negotiate a curve. As he lost control for unknown reasons, the driver's side collided with a utility pole.

Zedkaia was transported to Grady Hospital, where he died later in the morning as a result of injuries he sustained. Investigators do not believe that alcohol or speed were factors, but anyone with information is asked to call (770) 499-3987.
