Powder Springs Seeks Citizen Police Academy Applicants

The next class will begin Aug. 22.

The Powder Springs Police Department is seeking applicants for its free Citizen Police Academy.

The next class will begin Aug. 22.

"Classes will meet for two hours each Thursday and cover topics like domestic violence, firearm safety, ride-a-long with an officer, radar/laser, criminal investigations, and a tour of the Cobb County Jail and the Cobb 911 Center," Maj. Matt Boyd said.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, sign a waiver, and pass a criminal background check.

Applications, which can be submitted in person or online, are available at www.cityofpowdersprings.org/DocumentCenter/Home/View/1096.
