Cobb County Sheriff Neil Warren, who was injured along with Chief Deputy Milton Beck in an accident on Interstate 75 Thursday afternoon, had surgery on his spine Monday. According to the Marietta Daily Journal, Warren underwent a procedure at Grady Hospital to repair a fractured vertebrae.
Warren's executive assistant Nancy Bodiford told the MDJ that Warren has not been paralyzed.
The MDJ reports that on Thursday, Aug. 15, Warren and Beck were en route to the state capitol for a swearing-in ceremony when their truck was struck by another vehicle and was flipped over on the interstate.
Beck, the driver of the other vehicle, and his passenger were not seriously injured, according to the Journal.
