Teen Arrested for Allegedly Killing Two Powder Springs Men

The 14-year-old boy charged in Monday’s killings has been identified as Jaydon Lee Reid of Marietta.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that he will be charged as an adult in the incident that began as a drug deal. Reid reportedly ran when officers arrived on the scene, but was quickly apprehended.

The teen was found with a 9 mm pistol, which investigator believed he used to kill the two men. Reid also reportedly took money and drugs from the men he allegedly shot.

In addition to homicide charges, the teen was charged with two counts each of aggravated assault, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Cobb police have arrested a 14-year-old male and charged him with felony murder in connection with the shooting deaths of two Powder Springs men on Sunday evening.

According to Officer Mike Bowman, officers responded to a call at Wild Horse Creek Park on Macedonia Road around 7:15 p.m. There they discovered the bodies of Terrance Banks, 23, and Sterling Hargrave, 21, who had suffered apparent fatal gunshot wounds.

Investigators have charged the juvenile male with two counts of felony murder and two counts of aggravated assault. He is currently being held at the Marietta Regional Youth Detention Center.

This is sad - Powder Springs used to be such a nice town, but now it's like Stone Mountain. You can see young males walking the streets like zombies at any time of the day looking for stuff to get into, and the police are afraid to stop anyone to question them because they'll be labeled as "profiling" if they do. Armed robberies, burglaries... it's like a completely different town now. Sad.

I agree with Atlanta Owner that Powder Springs has gone from virtually no crime to an area where I won't go to the grocery or drug store after dark!!! You decide for yourself what the change is...
