Woman, 74, Bound, Robbed at Home

A masked gunman broke into her house on Schofield Drive on Saturday morning, police say.

A 74-year-old woman was tied up and left in a closet Saturday morning by a man who broke into her Powder Springs-area home.

The man had his face covered and is described only as being about 5-foot-10 and armed with a silver handgun, spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said in a news release this afternoon.

The man confronted the woman inside her house on Schofield Drive about 10 a.m., Pierce said. The woman reported that the bandit took cash and her silver Lincoln Town Car with Georgia license plate ABN-4425.
