Woman Believes Son Burglarized Home

She kicked him out on July 13 for "being disrespectful and not wanting to get a job," according to a Powder Springs police report.

A woman in the 3200 block of Kipling Drive believes it was her son who broke into the house on July 28 and stole electronics and jewelry.

She kicked him out on July 13 for "being disrespectful and not wanting to get a job," according to a report.

Police responded to the residence shortly after 2 p.m. in reference to a burglary. Earlier in the day, someone had apparently kicked in her basement door to get in the house.

The stolen items were a 50-inch flat screen TV, a Blu-ray DVD player, a Sony PSP handheld video game system and six games, and various pieces of jewelry.

The woman said she believes it was her son because she keeps all her bedroom doors locked and the keys hidden, and the only way someone could have gotten into her bedroom was to pick the lock, which her son knows how to do, the report says.

She also said three calls were made by whoever broke in, and the numbers were those of her son's friends.

Police asked the woman to make an itemized list of all the property taken and to track down any available serial numbers.

The woman said she would press charges on whoever the offender is, including her son.
