Cobb Road Closures, Detours and Work Updates

Here is the road work being done around Cobb County through Friday, according to the Board of Commissioners.

Barrett Parkway Construction

NB Barrett Pkwy (Burnt Hickory Road to US 41)

You can expect periodic lane closures northbound between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. between Burnt Hickory Road and Cobb Parkway (US 41). One lane will remain open at all times as the contractor performs grading operations, wall construction and storm drainage work. Various utility companies will be relocating services, which should not affect your service.

SB Barrett Pkwy (Cobb Place to Burnt Hickory Road)

Also anticipate periodic lane closures southbound from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. between Cobb Place and Burnt Hickory Road, with one lane remaining open at all times.

Lower Roswell Road Construction

Davidson Road to Surrey Trail

Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Davidson Road and Surrey Trail, with one lane remaining open for your commute. The contractor will be grading and placing concrete. Sewer work will continue from Hyde Road to Glenverness Drive.

Mill Run Drive to Willow Point Parkway

Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Mill Run Drive and Willow Point Parkway, with one lane remaining open for your commute. The contractor will be grading and placing concrete.

Willow Point Parkway to Timber Ridge Road

Also, expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Willow Point Parkway and Timber Ridge Road, with one lane remaining open for your commute. The contractor will continue clearing operations and begin storm drainage installation. Utilities relocation should not affect your service.

Cobb County Road Resurfacing

Asphalt paving operations, which will include lane closures with one lane remaining open at all times are scheduled on the following road:

• Cooper Lake Road from South Cobb Drive to East-West Connector

Jamerson Road/Wigley Road Construction Update

Canton Road to Trickum Road

This section of construction is substantially complete. The contractor will be fine grading, grassing and working on punch-list items.

Trickum Road to Jims Road

No lane closures expected between Trickum Road and Jims Road. The contractor will be fine grading, grassing shoulders and installing signs and guardrail.

Jims Road to Sandy Plains Road

Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wigley Road with one lane remaining open at all times for your commute. The contractor will be placing asphalt pavement in this area.

Floyd Road Construction Update

Clay Road to Hicks Road

Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with one lane remaining open at all times. The contractor will be installing new water main, storm drainage and grading. Utility companies will be relocating services, which should not affect your service.

Barnes Drive will be closed where it intersects with Floyd Road on Thursday, Oct. 25 and Friday, Oct. 26. A detour route with signs will be posted. The contractor will install storm drainage across Barnes Drive.

Hicks Road Sidewalks Construction Update

Frontier Trail to Floyd Oaks Drive

Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with one lane remaining open at all times. The contractor will be installing storm drainage, curb, gutter and sidewalk south of the East-West Connector. Utility companies may begin relocating services, which should not affect your service.
