Donations Get You Senior Center Naming Rights

Cobb Senior Services is accepting donations as low as $30 that allow you to leave your mark on the new Senior Wellness Center, the 42,000-square-foot facility being built in the former Powder Springs Station shopping center.

The property, located at 1150 Powder Springs St. four miles south of the Marietta Square, will also house Cobb County Community Development and the Property Management offices. The wellness center itself will contain the existing Marietta Neighborhood Center, Senior Services' administrative offices, a multipurpose center and senior clinic.

The wellness center is set to open in August, the Marietta Daily Journal reports.

Senior Wellness Center
The facility is for active adults age 55 and older to participate in activities which contribute to their overall wellness. Highlights include educational workshops, exercise, art and dance classes.

Dinner Theater (approx 5600 sq ft)
Live performance contributes to one’s overall health stimulating memory, coordination and interaction. The theater will be an excellent venue for theatrical performances, concerts and banquets. This will serve as a location for many events, with seating for up to 300.

The cafe will provide daily nutritious lunch selections for those visiting the campus as well as for CSS’ three Neighborhood Senior Centers. In addition, over 50,000 Meals on Wheels will be prepared fresh each year. The cafe’s beautiful, relaxed setting allows seating for approximately 125 indoors and 60 on the adjacent patio.

The studio will feature a sprung-wood floor and provide opportunities for participation in yoga, dance, stretching and other forms of exercise.
