Douglas Approves Purchase of Fire Truck
The new squad vehicle will have the Jaws of Life and a light tower.
The Douglas County fire department is planning on replacing its 1996 squad vehicle.
The Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday to purchase the truck from Ten-8 at a cost of $308,931. Fire Chief Scott Spencer said the new truck will have the Jaws of Life and a device that can tow a large light to illuminate places at night.
“It’s a very much needed piece of equipment,” Spencer said. “It goes all over the county and responds to all fires.”
