Kennesaw Mountain "Project Poppy" Donation Drive

Kennesaw Mountain proudly announces "Project Poppy," an effort to return Memorial Day to what is was meant to be: a time to honor brave American veterans who gave the last full measure.

Kindergarteners of Powder Springs Elementary School have graciously made poppies to help place wreaths on the headstones of veterans at the Marietta National Cemetary through the "Wreaths Across America" program. Their poppies are available for sale through the Kennesaw Mountain Historical Association for $1 May 2 - 23.

You can dedicate your poppy in honor of a fallen and deceased veteran; each poppy bought will be displayed along with the name of the honored vet during the Memorial Day weekend, May 27-30. Forms are available on the park's website: www.nps.gov/kemo.
