Kroger Recalls Spinach in Georgia

Kroger is recalling spinach sold at grocery stores in 15 states, including Georgia, because of possible Listeria contamination.

The Fresh Selections Tender Spinach was sold in 10-ounce packages and had a "best if used by" date of Sept. 16. The grocer told the Associated Press Wednesday that if customers did buy the recalled product, they should return it to stores for a full refund or replacement. Read more...

Georgia Cancer Specialists Settles with Feds over Medicare Billing

Georgia Cancer Specialists has reached a settlement with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia in which the medical practice agreed to pay $4.1 million to settle claims that it violated the False Claims Act in Medicare billing.

Redevelopment, Rezoning on the Rise in Southeast Cobb

According to County Commissioner Bob Ott, redevelopment is on the rise in District 2.

“Just over the last two years in District 2, there has been over $400 million worth of projects: $250 million in commercial and $150 million in residential,” he said Tuesday at a town hall meeting in Smyrna. “That’s more than the other three districts combined, so there’s been a lot of activity.”
