A ladder was found near the bedroom window of a Lithonia woman who told DeKalb police she saw a person looking in.

The woman said she was in her upstairs bedroom in the back side of the house on Pinnacle Way when she heard a noise outside, according to the police report. She grabbed a flashlight and looked out the back window, but told police she saw nothing.

After a few minutes, she saw someone looking in the window to her bedroom.

Woman Charged in Threats Toward Congressman

An Atlanta woman who threatened South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy isn't connected to him, officials said Monday.

Gowdy was parked outside a church when a woman pointed a gun at him in a threatening way, police said.

Gloria Brackett, 52, was arrested and charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol and pointing and presenting a firearm, but as other agencies investigate, more charges are possible.

Ann Romney Coming to Metro Atlanta

Ann Romney, the wife of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, is scheduled to appear at fundraising events in Duluth and Johns Creek on Thursday.

She will be greeting supporters of her husband’s victory campaign and posing for photos with them at a VIP Reception at Sugarloaf Country Club at 5 p.m. for contributions of $2,500 per person or $5,000 per couple. A general reception at $1,000 per person follows at 5:30 p.m.

Rabid Cat Scratches Woman in Canton

A cat that scratched a woman at a Canton apartment complex has tested positive for rabies, and health officials are searching for others who might have come into contact with it.

The stray cat, described as a black and white short-haired female, "aggressively" scratched the woman at the Cherokee South Apartments on Sept. 2, a health spokeswoman said.

526 Bream Confiscated in Lake Lanier Patrol

A Sept. 1 patrol by a Georgia Department of Natural Resources ranger resulted in hundreds of bream being confiscated and several citations issued.

The ranger was patrolling Lake Lanier near Burton Mill Park when he spotted an individual throwing a cast net. As a result of his investigation, 526 bream were confiscated.
