New Mableton District Could Get Development Committee

The Cobb County Board of Commissioners is set to vote on whether to create it today.

The Cobb County Board of Commissioners is set to decide today whether to create a committee that would make determinations on zoning and development applications that deviate from requirements in the new Mableton Redevelopment District.

The aim of the district is to create a pedestrian-friendly town center in Mableton meant that enhances the area and brings in businesses and developers.

The unicorporated section of Mableton is roughly bound by Floyd Road, Veterans Memorial Highway, Patterns Drive and Clay Road.
