The good Samaritan who jumped onto subway tracks in New York to save an unconscious woman said he didn't hesitate.

'Fight is Over' for Man Assaulted in Bar

A 29-year-old Minnesota man involved in a bar fight last week will be taken off of life support today, acording to his family members.

Adam McCloud was hospitalized last week after an assault at Smalley’s Caribbean Barbeque and Pirate Bar. Police arrested Eric Richards on suspicion of first-degree assault.

“The candle vigil that we had for Adam has touched our family,” one man wrote on McCloud’s Caring Bridge site this morning. “Thank you for that gift. It's a fitting honorarium for a light that has burned as brightly as Adam. Sadly, the doctors have made it clear that his fight is over and that soon that light will be extinguished.” Read more...

State's Voter ID Law On Hold Until After Election

A judge ruled this week that Pennsylvania's tough new Voter ID Law should be put on hold until after the Nov. 6 general election, according to the Associated Press.

Opponents say the law, and the process to get an ID, disenfranchises voters. Supporters say it will prevent voter fraud—but that justification sparked controversy when GOP state Rep. Mike Turzai said the law will allow Gov. Mitt Romney to win Pennsylvania. Read more...
