The man paid with a $50, took his change and put it with money in his hand, then began counting his cash, according to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office report. He had the clerk count the money, and asked if he could see the $50 with which he had paid.

The clerk said she placed the $50 bill on the counter and the man grabbed it, refused to give it back and said he needed change for gambling. As the manager tried to determine whether or not he was due change, the man left with both the $50 bill and his change.

Parents of Suspect in Pipe Bomb Case Arrested

The parents and a male friend of a 14-year-old boy suspected of making what appeared to be "extremely dangerous" explosive devices have been arrested, a spokeswoman for the Canton Police Department said.

The boy's parents, Brian and Sandra Howell, were arrested this evening and charged with six counts of possession and manufacture of a destructive device as well as two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, two men were arrested on armed robbery charges overnight in midtown after allegedly being a part of a larger group that had robbed a pair of juveniles in nearby Piedmont Park.

APD Zone 5 officers responded to a pedestrian robbery call at the park around 11:45 p.m. After receiving a description of the suspects and a general direction they had fled in, a subsequent canvass of “the midtown neighborhood” resulted in two of the five suspects being apprehended.
