Powder Springs Searching for New Finance Director

Powder Springs is accepting applications for finance director through Friday to replace Beverly Waldrip, who recently left the city for a position with Peachtree City.

“She’s got a nice promotion there,” Mayor Pat Vaughn said.

Waldrip came to Powder Springs in January 2009 after 18 years as an accountant with the Atlanta Regional Commission. Waldrip’s predecessor, Janet Camburn, left Powder Springs in September 2008 and also took a job in Peachtree City’s finance department.

Interim City Manager Brad Hulsey said there have been four applicants so far, all from Georgia. There isn’t a timetable to have a replacement hired, he said, adding he’d like the person to start soon as the city prepares for next fiscal year’s budget.

The salary is listed between $59,204 and $91,766; Waldrip made $85,000. For the job description, qualifications and how to apply, go here.
