Powder Springs to Consider Chicken Proposal

In February, the Cobb County Board of Commissioners adjusted its code for chicken owners.

Looks like another chicken debate is headed to Cobb. But this time, ground zero will be Powder Springs, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

During its June 17 meeting, the Powder Springs City Council is scheduled to consider a proposal that, if passed, would require residents to apply for two-year special use permits.

No more than a dozen chickens would be allowed and lots would have to be at least 5 acres. The chickens would have to be in a covered, fenced area as pets or a food source for eggs, according to the AJC.
