Jewel Smith, who lives in Lithia Springs and attends Woodward Academy, was recognized for her photograph "Reflection" at North Georgia College and State University.

Jewel Smith was given an Honorable Mention award in the Teacher/Student Exhibition last week at North Georgia College and State University for her photograph "Reflection."

Smith, of Lithia Springs, is an eighth grader at Woodward Academy in College Park. Combined with the school's other campus in Johns Creek, it serves pre-K through 12th grade and is the largest private school in the continental United States.

Middle and high school students are eligible to participate in the annual juried art exhibition. Only two student awards are presented: Best In Show and Honorable Mention.
