Tomorrow's Hollywood elite could be today's actors, singers, dancers or other talented folks in West Cobb. Learn how you can share your artistic accomplishments or upcoming events with your fellow readers in our latest "Patch 101" feature.

Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars took home statuettes from Sunday night’s 85th Academy Awards. Audiences across the world now know them, but they had to start somewhere.

A future Best Actor winner could right now be in Powder Springs. A potential Oscar-winning musician could call Marietta their home. We know there’s talent in West Cobb, and we want to help you show off that talent.

No matter if you’re involved with acting, signing, dancing or other talents, here are just a few ways you can use West Cobb Patch to show off our hometown stars.

1. Start a blog—perhaps one about your performers or upcoming performances.

Got a play coming up? You can post a blog to introduce the community to those involved in the production. Or maybe you want to share details about the awards your performers brought home. Blogs with photos can be included on West Cobb Patch’s homepage and are sometimes featured in Patch’s daily newsletter

2. Upload pictures or videos of your dress rehearsals, concerts, recitals and more.

We love getting photos and videos sent to us, especially those posted by you—the community—to our gallery. It's a place where everyone can quickly see images and films you all hold near and dear.

3. Make announcements about fundraisers, casting calls, upcoming performances and more.

Announcements can be about anything you want to tell people. We want you to feel invested in Patch and the community, and this is an easy and quick way to do it. Add a photo, as well. It helps your announcement stand out.

Simply click the Announcement option under the News tab on the homepage. On the right side of the screen you’ll see the button “Add an Announcement.” This will you take you to Patch’s new announcement form. When you’re ready, click “publish my announcement” and it will go live to the site immediately.

Other things Patch allows and encourages you to post include births, school or community awards, job promotions and more.

4. Place events such as concerts, plays, etc., on our calendar.

Want to invite the community to an upcoming performance? That's where event listings come in. You pick the date it runs, and voila! Navigate to the Events page and click “Add an Event” on the right side of the page. Tell us all the details about your upcoming event, then click “post my event” at the bottom of the page. If you include a photo, your event may appear on the front page.

5. Submit opinion articles or letters to the editor.

We accept submissions, which may appear as featured stories on our homepage and in our newsletters. We reach tons of people in the community, and we know they'd love to hear from you. Email these to jon.gargis@patch.com.

6. Place an advertisement for even more exposure.
