John Dewberry, president and CEO of Midtown-based Dewberry Capital Corporation, was a passenger on a Beech 400 jet that hydroplaned and crashed in a wooded area while landing at Macon Downtown Airport Tuesday morning.

The Telegraph reported the Dewberry Capital-owned jet took off in Charleston, S.C. and was attempting to land shortly after 10 a.m. when it slid on the runway, crossed an embankment and road before crashing about 30 yards away. Read more...

MARTA Installs Security Cameras on Buses

Security cameras were installed on seven MARTA buses this week as part of the agency's effort to prevent crime on public transportation.

School Brawl Leaves Security Officer Injured

Four students have been suspended from Tucker High School after a fight last week that injured an employee who tried to intervene.

The brawl started after school last Wednesday behind the main building, according to WSB-TV. School security officer Jarvis Brown and other staff members attempted to break it up, resulting in broken bones in Brown's right ankle that required surgery. Read more...

Clown Robs Atlanta Businesses

Atlanta police are asking for help in identifying the person seen on video cameras wearing a clown mask and robbing businesses in Southwest Atlanta.

His preferred time to commit these crimes seems to be from 6 to 8:30 a.m., according to police. The assailant carries a gun and has used it in at least 2 cases. Read more...

Man Charged with Robbery Elderly Women

Avondale Estates and DeKalb County police have charged a 20-year-old man with robbing two women in their 60s, one of whom was hurt and taken to the hospital.

Julian Rashawn Clay of Mountain Drive, just outside the Avondale Estates city limits, is being held in the DeKalb jail. He's charged with two counts of robbery, one count of aggravated assault and two counts of misdemeanor battery. Read more...
