The Cobb County School District has announced that there will be no classes on Tuesday due to the extreme cold weather sweeping through the metro Atlanta area.
In the announcement, which was made shortly before noon, school district teachers and staff will have a delayed arrival time of 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Tuesday was to be the first day of classes in the new winter semester in Cobb.
The Cobb Board of Education will be holding its previously scheduled meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday to elect new officers and set the 2014 board meeting schedule.
Tuesday's meeting takes place in the board room of the CCSD central office, 514 Glover Street, Marietta.
Marietta City Schools were to have returned to classes Monday but those have been cancelled. No decision has been announced yet about Tuesday classes.
