Game 3 Stands Between Hawks and Semis

The Hillgrove baseball team took the first quarterfinal match-up against Parkview Tuesday but lost the second.

Hillgrove took the first game, 6-3, of the AAAAA baseball quarterfinal match-up against Parkview Tuesday, but fell 4-1 in the second.

The first pitch of the decisive game three is scheduled for 5:55 p.m. at today, according to the Marietta Daily Journal.

Parkview knocked in 13 runs in the final inning of the final game to steal the state crown from Hillgrove last season. This year's winner of the rivalry will head to the semis to face Mill Creek after their Tuesday sweep of Camden County, 1-0 and 7-0.

In the other two quarterfinal brackets, Grayson swept North Cobb, 5-3 and 14-1, while lost one game to Brookwood, 11-2, before the second was postponed.

The Hoyas were up 7-3 in the fourth but couldn't seal the deal on an even series because of a lighting issue, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. The series will resume today at Brookwood.
