Hillgrove Tennis Teams Go For Region Championship

The boys and girls tennis teams will be playing for a Region 4-AAAAA championship today at Kennesaw Mountain High School.

The No. 3 seed Hillgrove boys upset No. 2 seed North Cobb Tuesday in the region semifinals to advance to Wednesday's championship match. The upstart Hawks will have to take down No. 1 seed Harrison if they want to win the region crown. The Hoyas beat Hillgrove 4-1 during the regular season.

On the girls side, the Lady Hawks will look to avenge their only region loss when they play Kennesaw Mountain. On March 4, in a game that didn't count toward the region standings, Hillgrove beat the Lady Mustangs 4-1. On March 15, in a game that counted in the region standings, Kennesaw Mountain got its revenge on the Lady Hawks with a 4-1 win of their own.

Both matches are set to begin at 4 p.m.
