An eighth-grader from Lovinggood Middle School in Powder Springs has won a T-shirt design contest that had more than 700 submissions.
Joanna Frazier has been selected as the winner of the Kids ii Strong Legs Run T-shirt Design Contest.
This year, Kids ii and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta held the contest for the long-sleeved T-shirt each race participant receives. Joanna's design includes well-known images of Atlanta, along with Children's mascots Hope and Will.
Joanna learned about the contest in Timothy Tuohy’s art class. She loves art, she sings and plays guitar and is a member of the Walker’s Ridge swim team. She was inspired to create her design by another Cobb County student who passed away in 2008 after a long battle with cancer.
Joanna's design will debut at the Kids ii Strong Legs Run on Saturday.
