UGA Will Graduate 5,255 Students in Spring 2013
Among those finishing are 13 undergraduates with a 4.0 GPA
Today at 7 p.m., in Sanford Stadium, the University of Geogia will graduate 4,164 undergraduate students.
Outgoing U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., will give the address. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from UGA in 1966 and a J.D. from the University of Tennessee in 1968.
Also finishing this spring are 176 doctoral students and 915 students with master's or specialist's degrees, who will receive their degress at 10am in Stegeman Coliseum. The speaker will be UGA professor Stephen Hajduk, head of the department of biochemistry and molecular biology in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences.

During the ceremony, UGA will give Mary Frances Early an honorary doctor of laws degree. Early graduated from UGA in 1962 with her master’s degree in music education. She was among the first African-American student to graduate from UGA. She received her specialist degree in music education from UGA in 1967.
Thirteen undergraduates managed to compile a perfect college academic transcript. This includes work completed at the University of Georgia and also college-level transfer work done before or after they enrolled at the university.

Both ceremonies will be streamed live here. No backpacks larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 12 inches or unopened packages will be allowed at either venue.
