Sweetwater Creek State Park 5K and Family Fun Run

Same-day registration begins at 8 a.m. at Picnic Shelter #3 at Sweetwater Creek State Park, with the 5K Trail Run commencing at 9 a.m. and One Mile Family Fun Run at 10 a.m. All participants receive a t-shirt.

Early registration is $20 for the 5K Trail Run and $15 for the Family Fun Run through October 16th. After that, the registration fees are $30 for the 5K Trail Run and $20 for the Family Fun Run. Also, 5K runners are encouraged to join in the Family Fun Run following the 5K at no additional cost. All vehicles are required to pay a $5 parking fee to the Georgia State Parks.

1 Meal – 1 Workout, an organization created to encourage people to be more active and have a healthier diet, announces its first annual Sweetwater Creek State Park 5K and Family Fun Run on Saturday, November 5, 2011. Taking place on scenic trails through Sweetwater Creek State Park near Six Flags over Georgia, the race encourages people of all ages and fitness levels to participate and enjoy a beautiful local state park. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. 

The Sweetwater Creek State Park 5K and Family Fun Run is the brainchild of Aaron Butler, founder of 1 Meal – 1 Workout. The organization aims to inspire others to make healthier decisions, one decision at a time.
