Friday Football Preview: McEachern, Hillgrove Defend State Rankings

Campbell (0-3) at McEachern (3-0) – As the state’s No. 1 team, has everything to prove tonight. From now until the playoffs the Indians can’t afford any missteps or hiccups if they want to stay on top. Facing a Campbell team seems like a breather, but the Spartans will be upset-minded and bring everything they can in hopes for their first win.

South Cobb (3-0) at Hillgrove (3-0) – is ranked seventh in the state among the GHSA 5A classification and puts that ranking, and its perfect record, on the line against another unbeaten team in South Cobb. The Eagles have had to fight for every victory, wining by no more than seven points and averaging five points as a margin of victory. The Hawks have been thumping opponents, wining last week by 45 and the week before by 40.

Lithia Springs (0-2) at Alexander (1-2) – travels to Alexander tonight and will attempt to earn its first victory and continue to improve on offense. The Lions boosted their output from six points to 16 from the first week to the second and will need to continue ramp up to get into the win column.
