Hillgrove Finishes 14th in Directors Cup

Each year, the Regions Bank Directors Cup is given to the top performing high school athletic department in each classification.

The Regions Bank Directors Cup is presented by the Georgia Athletic Directors Association to recognize the top athletic departments in the Georgia High School Association. Points are accumulated throughout each school year to determine the best programs in the state by classification, gender and region.

Points are tallied from each school’s top eight scoring sports among the 25 sanctioned GHSA sports in which each school participates. Each school that wins will receive a Regions Directors Cup trophy and wall banner.

The AAAAA top five is as follows:

finished in 14th place with 744 points. placed 34th with 358.5 points, while scored 50 points in the AAAA classification for 84th place.

Hillgrove’s boys teams finished in 11th place and scored 425.50 points. The baseball team scored 90 points for its . The other points were earned from golf (72), football (70), tennis (53), soccer (53), cross country (34), track (27) and lacrosse (26.50).

The Lady Hawks scored 318.5 points and took 15th place. Their points came from basketball (70), soccer (70), tennis (53), cross country (45), swimming (29), lacrosse (26.5) and softball (25).

McEachern’s boys teams tallied points in four sports and finished in 36th place. The Indians scored 54 points for wrestling, 53 for football, 38 for track and 25 for basketball.

The Lady Indians finished in 33rd place with 188.5 points. The girls scored 90 points for their runner-up finish in basketball, 72 for track and 26.5 for lacrosse.
