Coffee Shop News and Summer Reading Downtown

Here's what's going on downtown.

The wants to know "What does your child have to read for summer reading?"

Before you run to the big-box store or order online, I hope you will consider calling or stopping at the store for all the summer reading books your children need. We have loads of titles in on the many school lists available.

Be the first in with your child's school list for us to copy and get a 10 percent discount off your choices if we have them in stock. If we don't carry the title you need or are out of stock, we are ordering books daily and normally can have them in only two business days and save you money too.

Spread the word—we want to help our community and hope our community will support us as well.

The says: "We have added a new dealer. Looks like handmade quilts have made it into the Country Store. Stop by and check it out. We are all ready for the Fourth of July, and come check out the new quilts that have found there way in."

Good news heard downtown: the  is back open starting June 18. While the coffee shop had to close for just a bit, they have their doors back open and are awaiting your arrival for some yummy coffee, smoothies and treats.

Did you know they serve counter culture direct trade coffee? What that means is the coffee from this company is fair trade, organic and well—here this is what they say:

Personal and Direct Communication

We spend an unprecedented amount of time with our grower partners on their farms, engaging in the kind of personal, direct communication that builds trust and lays the groundwork for long-term, mutually supportive relationships. Such direct collaboration allows us to:

  • Work side by side with farmers to improve quality
  • Encourage ecologically responsible cultivation methods
  • Assess social practices and working conditions
  • Learn more about the cultures and people who produce great coffee

Now what the owner says is "organic is great, but the more important thing is it is that the coffee tastes great!" Regular hours should be back on track for the coffee shop, but please be patient as they continue to grow.

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
