Morbidly Obese No More and the Bookstore Blogging Starts Now

Supporting small business is important, how can you help? This blog is about what I think we all can do on a very small level.

Finding out the busier I am the more I can seem to get done. I didn't think it worked that way but alas, it seems to be true.

I am going to restart my journey blogging anew. Last blog written was about my weight loss journey and while important and life changing, life has changed AGAIN!

At last counting of my last entry I had lost 90lbs, but I had meant to continue to reach my goal, though I didn't know what that would end up being. It seems a lifetime ago. I did reach my goal! And then another 30lbs later I had lost a total of 130lbs. In the meantime,  I sold my beloved bookstore and went on to be a full time health coach with the health plan that led me to just that, HEALTH! My husband, Steven, lost a total of 150lbs. We were so excited that he has been working at retiring in the near future to help us get more people in America healthy. To date we have helped 272 people also attain a healthier weight since we began our own journey!

That is not actually why I am sitting down to write at the wee hours of the morning. I have switched back to returning to my bookstore after a 9 month absence. Oddly enough, I apparently couldn't stay away! Now I will continue coaching but while also helping those in Powder Springs as well as all over the world with our online business, finding those books that make them feel great, smarter, interested in some subject that floats their boat or just getting lost in another dimension of another world. Of course if you have a child, while we encourage reading at every level from picture books to Shakespeare, we also know you need to know where to get your students school reading at, and we hope to be that place.

So, back to blogging about our great little hamlet of Powder Springs, downtown in general but shouting out loud to all to please support your mom and pop shops closest to you as well as the city or county you live in. I am seeing new growth downtown and hope to see the new businesses grow and prosper and serve their community but also always want to shout a reminder that those people need YOU! Please remember the backbone of America is small business. As we go to vote on Tuesday, remember to vote for whomever you feel will  support small business. The way you can support your community is by rewarding them with your business so they can spend their money and pay taxes to be in your town and serve others.

The way I say thanks to my community is to do more business locally. When I need a product or service, I patronize local businesses first. One hand washes the other-I help them, and then they think of me when they need what I have. It is simple. Everyone wins.
