A Tip for Mother's Day Flowers.......what to do if.

What to do if you receive less then beautiful flowers from a florist this Mother's Day. Follow this one simple tip....

Happy Mother's Day West Cobb Moms! I have been a Blogger for 4 years now and recently did a post about what to do when you receive flowers that just aren't up to par. So I thought I would pass along to you some solutions I have discovered to be helpful....

My daughter had flowers delivered to me yesterday by a large floral company here in town. Daughter lives 1,000 miles away so all she could do was go by the pictures online. Greeted at the door by the delivery person I signed for them and brought them into the house. Just thrilled that I received flowers I didn't say a word to the person. Once I put them down on my island I noticed that all of the roses were already fully opened and upon further inspection half of them were already dead or dying. I immediately called the florist and they were very nice and apologized and will be bringing me out a different arrangement next week sometime. But my daughter didn't pay $100 to have me not have flowers on Mother's Day....while I was e-mailing in pictures of the dying flowers to the florist I thought I would check out the site to see what the flowers were "suppose" to look like....I did this a few months ago when a friends mother was in a local hospice and I sent a large arrangement of flowers only to find out after visiting her and seeing them in person that "half" of the flowers were missing...HALF!! They refunded my money and said how sorry they were (different florist then this time)

But I would think you would agree how embarrarring this can become...I felt bad yesterday telling my daughter that half dead flowers were delivered but when you pay for something and you don't get what's advertised that just isn't right.

I suggested in my blog post that when receiving flowers take a photo of them and e-mail the picture to the sender with your thank you note. This way the person sending the flowers can see exactly what you received and if it's not what they ordered they can call and get it taken care of. When relatives and friends live out of state you can't always know about a reliable local florist in their area. Honestly even if you order local this can happen unless you have a personal relationship with the florist. If your giving flowers local go to Publix or Costco and buy a big bouquet of flowers and arrange them yourself and personally deliver them. They always seem to be fresher and last longer not to mention the cost is probably less then half. Every women loves to get flowers no matter who brings them to their door....

So this Mother's Day if you receive flowers go online and see what they are suppose to look like....1-800-flowers have every arrangement possible to compare. Send a picture of the flowers you receive to the sender thanking them....and if for any reason they are not fresh or they seem to be a bit on the thin side then call the florist and ask that they send out another arrangement...Always offer to have them pick up what you received. I have always had this met with good results....Oh wait there was that time when the flowers went to the Hospice and the customer service person said that it's not uncommon to have Nurses steal flowers out of arrangements before delivering them to the patients room...This did not go over big with my nurse and nurse friend followers of my Blog....Happy Mother's Day from a very picky consumer....
