Sabrett’s Hot Dog Stand in Hiram

Try Sabrett's HOT DOG stand by Home Depot in Hiram for a great, quick lunch. YUM!

I knew it was there. I’ve eaten there before. I had lots of errands to do that one day and couldn’t decide where to pick up a quick, hot lunch. Then I had remembered the best hot dogs around ever.  In the Hiram Home Depot parking lot there is a great inexpensive umbrella style hot dog stand. Although some may not consider it inexpensive, I think it is great price for a good meal.

This simple old fashioned umbrella hot dog cart just like at the Jersey Shore boardwalk or on the sweltering hot, crowed streets of New York City. Not just any hot dog cart but Sabrett’s hot dogs. They are so good! Some may call eating from a hot dog cart not enjoyable but it is a eating on the run experience to enjoy. There is no wait to be seated, wait to give order, wait for your food. No wait for the drive thru line to keep moving as you watch the clock.  Some may call these dirty water dogs but I consider it soaking in the tasty juices. YUM!

Sabrett’s hot dogs are more popular up north but if you don’t try one thinking it’s a "Yankee" thing you are being so mean to yourself.

My favorite is the sauerkraut  and mustard dog. That day I had both a sauerkraut with mustard and also I tried a coleslaw dog. YUM! YUM!

The stand also has some kind of sausage dogs. I won't try the sausage dogs cause I don't want another food must have it, love it, food addiction.

I like to believe that the meat in a Sabrett's hot dog is better quality than a gas station thing they call the roller dogs, that’s gotta be true! Right!

Sabrett's dogs snap back at you when you bite them. YUM!

My only wish would be that the Home Depot or the stand's owner would help the hot dog stand thrive and put in a few picnic table and chairs so those grab some lunch people working suchas; painters, landscapers, plumbers and many of the business men, women and kids out and about, all eating on the run, can take out a couple of minutes to sit,  eat some great dogs, a bag of chips and a cold soda.

Also I had seen, I think last summer a Mr. Softee ice cream truck up in Paulding County and wonder if that truck is still hanging around there. Wouldn't it be great if Mr. Softee and Sabrett's could park in the Home Depot lot nearby each other for a complete lunch and dessert. Ah, this would be one of my dream meals. Anyone seen the Mr. Softee truck or heard that famous theme song of the Mr. Softee truck in their neighborhood out there in Paulding?

Note to readers* For your 4th of July barbeque,  Publix grocery store also sells Sabrett’s hot dogs. They are in the hot dog section but on the top shelf at the grocery store.
