Correction to Sanitation Article

A June article said there were over 600 out-of-city sanitation customers who dumped city service. This was flat wrong—it should have been exactly 100, according to the interim city manager.

My article in June stated that there were over 600 out-of-city sanitation customers who dumped city service for private haulers because their service was about $8.00 per month cheaper.

This was flat wrong it should have been exactly 100 according to the Interim City Manager. That is still lots of money that the Sanitation Department cannot afford to lost.

I am going to find out how the three month (May-July) numbers stack up and see if this was a trend or not. I do still wonder what the number would be if City customers were permitted to go private. See my previous articles on the Sanitation situation.

My September articles will return to City issues. There are still serous matters that need to be addressed. One hot issue is the selection of the City Manager. Why is the City piddling with this matter? They have had 50 applicants. How are they moving along? Is there a hidden agenda here?
