Georgia Power Gives Supplies to Compton, Powder Springs

The elementary schools received tools for school on Monday, donated from the company's employees and other metro Atlanta citizens.

Georgia Power donated school supplies to students at and in Powder Springs and Floyd Middle School in Mableton on Monday.

The donations are part of United Way’s School Tools for Cool Kids initiative.

Over the last month, Georgia Powder employees and other metro Atlanta citizens donated the paper, crayons, pencils, markers, glue sticks and an assortment of other school supplies for area schools.

“We have had numerous requests for supplies," Powder Springs Elementary counselor Chemara Jackson said, "and the donation from Georgia Power will help fill the gap for those students that are in need.”
