They now qualify for a chance to win a $1,000 regional scholarship that will be awarded in July.

By Rodney Thrash

The Kohl’s Cares Scholarship Program today recognized six Cobb County children who have made a positive impact in their communities through volunteerism.

Sarah Ehorn, 18, of Powder Springs; Garland Jones, 17, of Marietta; and 9-year-old Aaliyah Rucker of Austell joined Rachel Carmichael, Lauren Sawyer and Kayla Wivorkoski of Acworth as local honorees. In all, the store gave 69 people from Georgia a $50 gift card, a certificate and the chance to qualify for a $1,000 regional scholarship that will be awarded in July.
