On Saturday, Oct. 5, Hands On Atlanta will ignite a passion for volunteerism throughout the community with its annual day of service -- known as Hands On Atlanta Day 2013

More than 7,000 individual and corporate volunteers will converge on 63 project sites on Saturday morning to tackle some of greater Atlanta's most pressing needs during the 23rd Annual Hands On Atlanta Day.

In addition to the volunteer events going on throughout the city, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed will be “hands on” at the following locations:

  • Boyd Elementary School, 1891 Johnson Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30318
  • Covenant House of Georgia, 1559 Johnson Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30318 (A Delta Airlines Event)
  • Friends of English Avenue, 550 Lindsay Street, Atlanta, GA  30314

Under this year's theme of "I Left My Mark," volunteers will work on projects at schools, parks, and non-profits doing work ranging from building restoration to tutoring to landscaping to mentoring.

For the first time, this year there will also be a video contest to allow volunteers to show how they are actively leaving their mark on Atlanta. The best entries will be shown on handsonatlanta.organd social media pages.
