Midway Presbyterian Church PCA/Midway Covenant Christian School

Founded in 1850 with 14 members, the church later became part of the Presbyterian Church in America, a denominationMore organized in 1973. The church has expanded to meet the needs of a growing congregation. Additions include the 1987 move to a 475-seat sanctuary, which included a 13-classroom educational facility. A 1991 addition included a 375-seat education/fellowship hall, large kitchen, eight classrooms and a three-room choir rehearsal area with a music office. The church offers a number of ministries, missions and activities, including Bible study. In 1996, it added a non-profit school. Midway Covenant Christian School currently educates more than 280 students. It concentrates on core curriculum, including geography, history, language, literature, mathematics, music, religion, science, reading and writing with an emphasis on learning skills, including study, inquiry, research and discovery, grammar, logic and rhetoric. Enhancement courses offered include music, art, computer, band, physical education, exposure to Spanish and life skills.
