Marietta Driver Seriously Injured in Crash

The 53-year-old man was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries following the crash Wednesday.

The Cobb County Police Department has identified five people involved in a major crash that caused heavy traffic delays Wednesday at the intersection of Cobb Parkway and McCollum Parkway. According to the department's preliminary findings, a blue 2006 Toyota Corolla was southbound on Cobb Parkway at the same time a green 2011 Volvo Tractor-Trailer was westbound on McCollum Parkway. The Volvo struck the Toyota on the driver’s side. The impact caused the Toyota to collide with three other vehicles that were stopped in the northbound lanes of Cobb Parkway, said Officer Mike Bowman, the spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department.  The driver of the Toyota was identified as 53-year-old Ehsan Khan of Marietta. Powder Springs Woman in Accident Still Hospitalized

Megan Smith, 25, sustained a broken leg and lacerations to her shoulder on Windy Hill Road Wednesday in Smyrna.

Police say the woman seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in Smyrna Wednesday is still recovering from her injuries at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Megan Smith, 25, of Powder Springs, was traveling westbound on her Suzuki sport bike on Windy Hill Road when she turned into a parking lot just east of Belmont Circle and clipped the bumper of a Toyota Corolla. She was wearing a helmet. “It appears she was ejected, but I can’t confirm that,” Smyrna police Officer Robert Harvey said at the scene. “I don’t have any evidence that she was."
