Dallas Hwy. Crash Critically Hurts Girl

A Kennesaw driver was trying to turn into a West Cobb shopping center.

A 12-year-old girl was critically injured in a West Cobb car crash on Dallas Highway on Saturday afternoon. The girl was in the back seat of a black 1990 Nissan Maxima driven by Joab Kunin, 63, of Kennesaw, Cobb County police said. Kunin tried to turn left from westbound Dallas Highway into the Village at Old Trace shopping center, across from Bob Cox Road, at 5:25 p.m. But an orange 2005 Chevrolet Colorado, driven east on Dallas Highway by 23-year-old Jacqueline Waters of Powder Springs, hit the Maxima. Kunin, Waters, and a front-seat passenger in the Maxima, Jacqueline Keaton, 51, of Atlanta, were taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta with injuries that were not life-threatening.
